Dhruv Shorey created history in List A cricket, holds the record of scoring most consecutive centuries.

From the pen of Jaideep Raghuvanshi: Vidarbha’s reliable batsman Dhruv Shorey created history by playing a brilliant century against Hyderabad in the Vijay Hazare Trophy organized by BCCI. By scoring a century against Hyderabad, he became the joint first player to score the most number of consecutive centuries in List A cricket. By scoring unbeaten 109 runs in 77 balls, Shorey equaled the record of scoring most 5 consecutive centuries in List ‘A’ cricket. This record was earlier recorded in the name of Narayan Jagadishan.

Shourie, who came to bat at number three, took full advantage of the strong opening partnership of 148 runs between Aman Mokhade and Yash Rathod. Shourie, in his consistent and aggressive innings, hit 9 fours and 3 sixes and took Vidarbha to a huge score of 365/5 while batting first. This was his 8th century in List ‘A’ cricket.

Shourie’s golden period started from last year

This golden phase of Shourie started with the knockout matches of the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Last season, he scored consecutive centuries in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. Shourie, along with Karun Nair, played a very important role in taking Vidarbha to the finals. In that season, he scored 494 runs in 8 innings at an average of 70.47 and strike rate of 92.68 and achieved the position of second highest run-scorer of the team.

  • 114 (120) vs Maharashtra
  • 118* (131) vs Rajasthan
  • 136 (125) vs Bengal

Shourie made a great start in this season too

Which is still the highest individual score in List ‘A’ cricket.
