Angered over names not being taken in the BBMKU convocation, three MLAs left the program, the Governor addressed only the name of Jairam Mahato.

Dhanbad: On Friday, an uncomfortable situation arose at the second convocation ceremony of Binod Bihari Mahato Koylanchal University when three MLAs left the Samaroh venue as soon as Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar’s address began. The names of the MLAs of Dhanbad, Tundi and Sindri were not taken in the Governor’s address. However, the MLAs later clarified that they have not boycotted the Governor’s programme, rather they are angry with the boycotting of the working style of the university management. He also said that some of his pre-determined programs were already decided.

The mercury reached 1.7 degrees Celsius in McCluskieganj, Ranchi, schools up to 12th closed till 31 December.
Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar did not mention the three MLAs present at the function in the beginning of his address, although he did take the name of Dumri MLA Jairam Mahato, who was present at the function. Hurt by this, Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha, Tundi MLA Mathura Mahato and Sindri MLA Chandradev Mahato left the venue.

People of Sarna community met Hemant Soren, Chief Minister said – With the implementation of PESA, the system of local self-governance will be strengthened.
The three MLAs who were angry with Jairam Mahato about this matter gave their reactions. Mathura Mahato said that he did not boycott the Governor’s program, he welcomed him and even stayed for a long time during the program. People are looking at leaving in the middle of the speech from different perspectives. Recently, no information was given about the Governor’s program in Tundi, despite the presence of local MLA. No question was raised on that. Raj Sinha said that I have no resentment towards the Governor. This program was of BBMKU and it was the responsibility of the university administration to provide information about the guests. The Governor must have mentioned only those names which were given to him by the University, I already had many pre-determined programs. Sindri MLA Chandradev Mahato said on this matter that the university administration is directly responsible for this. We were told that the MLAs would also be given an opportunity to speak from the stage, but neither did they get a chance to speak nor was the Governor informed that we were also present at the function, my displeasure is with the university. Regarding this whole controversy, Dumri MLA Jairam Mahato said that His Excellency must have felt that I am active in the work in my area, that is why he took my name. The remaining three MLAs got angry, there is no reason for me in this.
