Between December 22-26, Indian startups cumulatively managed to raise a mere $49.2 Mn, marking an 86% decline from the $347.7 Mn secured by startups last week. Only seven startup funding deals materialised this week against 27 last week.

  • Advanced hardware and technology topped sector-wise funding charts this week on the back of defencetech company CoreEL Technologies raising the biggest cheque of $30 Mn this week.
  • Fintech and ecommerce segments each saw two deals materialise apiece this week. While fintech startups PowerUp Money and Prosperr.iocumulatively raised $16 Mn, D2C startups Supply6 and MagicDecor raised undisclosed cheques.

Startup IPO Updates Of The Week

  • OYO’s parent entity PRISM received shareholders’ nod to raise up to INR 6,650 Cr via a fresh issue of equity shares as part of its proposed IPO. The startup is expected to soon file for its much anticipated IPO.
  • Defence tech startup Tonbo Imaging filed its DRHP with market regulator SEBI for its IPO. The issue will comprise only an OFS of up to 1.81 Cr equity shares. Its backers including CEAQ Technologies, Timothy Guy Mitchell,  among others, along with the promoters will offload shares via the OFS.
  • Quick commerce major Zepto received its board’s nod to raise INR 11,000 Cr via the issuance of fresh shares as part of its IPO. The IPO is also expected to comprise a larger portion of OFS.
