Delhi’s air is poisonous again, AQI crosses 400 in many areas
The air quality in the country’s capital Delhi has once again reached critical levels. On Saturday morning, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded above 400 in many areas of the capital, which falls in the ‘severe’ category. Due to increasing levels of pollution, people are facing problems like irritation in eyes, difficulty in breathing and sore throat.
According to the data of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), a blanket of smog has covered Delhi and there is no hope of any major improvement in the situation at present. Experts say that cold air, low speed winds and local pollution sources are making the situation worse. The administration has advised people to avoid unnecessary going out and take health precautions.
