President Draupadi Murmu is going to set a new record. She will go to sea aboard a Navy submarine. According to the official information given by Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President will undertake a sea voyage in a submarine from Karwar Harbor in Karnataka on December 28. The President’s Secretariat gave this information on Friday.

It is noteworthy that President Draupadi Murmu had recently flown in the Indian Air Force’s fighter aircraft ‘Rafale’. After flying in a fighter plane, she is now going to travel in a submarine. As per the schedule, President Murmu will visit Goa, Karnataka and Jharkhand from December 27 to 30, 2025. She will leave for Goa on the evening of 27th December. On December 28, the President will take a voyage in a submarine from Karwar Harbor in Karnataka.

The President will attend the centenary celebrations of Oly Chiki in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand on December 29. On the same day, she will also address the 15th convocation ceremony organized at NIT, Jamshedpur. After this, the President will address the inter-state people’s cultural gathering – Kartik Jatra in Gumla, Jharkhand on 30th December.

Earlier in the month of October this year, the President of India Draupadi Murmu had flown in the fighter aircraft ‘Rafale’ of the Indian Air Force. With this flight he had established a new record.

The President reached the Air Force Station in Ambala, Haryana on Wednesday, 29 October. Here he flew a sortie in the Air Force’s state-of-the-art fighter aircraft ‘Rafale’. During this, the President also wore fighter pilot suit and all other necessary equipment. This occasion was a proud moment for the Indian Air Force.

Ambala is a major airbase of the Indian Air Force. This Air Force station is also a major center for deployment of squadrons of Rafale fighter planes. This is the reason why it is considered an important basis of India’s air security. Actually, this was not the first time that President Draupadi Murmu had boarded a fighter jet of the Indian Air Force.

According to the President’s Secretariat, on April 8, 2023, he also flew a Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft at Tezpur Air Force Station in Assam. At that time, while sharing his experience with the pilots of the Indian Air Force, he appreciated the efficiency, discipline and dedication of the Air Force.

It is noteworthy that recently a modern anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft named ‘Anjdeep’ has also been inducted into the Indian Navy. Its name is derived from ‘Anjadeep’ located near the Karwar coast of Karnataka. It reflects India’s national commitment towards protecting its maritime domain.

Due to its connection with Karwar coast and Anjdeep, it also has its own historical and cultural importance. The ship is the modern reincarnation of the former INS Anjadeep, which was decommissioned from the Navy in the year 2003. According to the Defense Ministry, this is an excellent example of indigenous manufacturing.
