New Delhi: As the Common Entrance Test (CAT) 2025 results are out, management aspirants across India are exploring top Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) colleges and B-schools beyond the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). While IIMs are the most sought-after choice, several premier institutes including IITs, FMS Delhi, SPJIMR Mumbai and MDI Gurgaon also accept CAT scores for admission. Candidates with 90 percentile and above still have strong options to pursue quality management education.
Around 2.95 lakh candidates registered for CAT 2025 and 2.58 lakh appeared for the exam conducted by IIM Kozhikode across 339 centres in 170 cities. IIM Ahmedabad continues to lead as per NIRF 2025 rankings followed by other IIMs with a total of 21 IIMs accepting CAT scores. However, aspirants can also consider IITs and top B-schools offering specialised management programmes as well as institutions that accept other entrance exams for MBA admissions.

Many other B-schools also accept alternative entrance exams such as Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT), Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) and Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate (CUET-PG) for candidates who do not achieve a high CAT percentile.
Institutions like the Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad, Symbiosis (SIBM Pune), Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Mumbai, Xavier Institute of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur, Great Lakes Chennai, Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) Mumbai, and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) School of Management provide multiple pathways for admission ensuring aspirants can still pursue quality MBA programmes.
