When name came up in Ankita Bhandari murder case, Dushyant Kumar Gautam gave clarification
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary and in-charge of party affairs in Uttarakhand, Dushyant Kumar Gautam, hurt by his name being dragged into the infamous Ankita Bhandari murder case, warned on Friday that apart from taking legal action against those who defame his character, he will also file a defamation case.
Meanwhile, former MLA from Jwalapur in Haridwar district, Suresh Rathore, who was expelled from BJP, claimed that he allegedly gave Rs 50 lakh to Urmila Sanawar, a woman who claimed to be his wife, because she was ‘blackmailing’ him.
It is noteworthy that this controversy has arisen from the recent viral video of Sanawar and the audio of his alleged conversation with Rathore in which Sanawar alleged that an alleged ‘VIP’ named ‘Gattu’ is involved in the Ankita murder case. In another video, Sanavar also revealed the identity of ‘Gattu’, due to which Gautam is hurt.
In a video message released by the state BJP here, Gautam said that he has been working continuously in the political and social field for the last 47 years and no such thing was ever raised about his character. He alleged that some anti-social people are trying to tarnish his image.
BJP General Secretary said, “These videos are being shown continuously in the media and social media, where they started from, it should be investigated, facts should be taken from that person. The authenticity of that fact should be seen.” Gautam said that he has also written a letter to the State Home Secretary in this regard.
He said, “I want to warn those who are trying to spread confusion that all this will be investigated. Basically, I will take legal action against whoever has hatched this conspiracy and will also file a defamation case.” Gautam also told the people that if he finds even one such wrongdoing against him and they present it with proof, he will retire from his political and social life.
On Thursday, the BJP General Secretary had written a letter to State Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli requesting him to direct the media and social media to remove the alleged material against him in the Ankita Bhandari murder case and to stop spreading such material directly or indirectly. Along with his letter, he has also submitted a list of social media and news channels that have made “false and malicious” allegations aimed at “tarnishing and damaging his reputation”.
On the other hand, while talking to reporters in Haridwar, Suresh Rathore said that Sanawar has been blackmailing him for a long time and he had to sell his factory and give her Rs 50 lakh. Rathore said that he has lodged a complaint of blackmailing against Urmila with the police but despite repeated requests, no action has been taken yet. He said that Sanawar should be arrested. Rathore also alleged that by using Sanawar as a shield, Congress is conspiring against him and his former party BJP in this matter.
