Torture on wildlife in Haryana, 10 snakes killed and bodies hanged from trees

Nuh: A very serious and shocking incident that has shaken wildlife conservation has come to light from Nuh district of Haryana. Here a person has been accused of killing 10 snakes simultaneously and hanging their dead bodies from a tree in public. As soon as the incident came to light, there was a sensation in the area and huge anger is being seen from social media to wildlife activists.

This case is being described as a blatant violation of the Wildlife Protection Act. Police and Forest Department have taken cognizance of the matter and preparations are being made to take strict legal action against the accused.

Incident came to light on Punhana-Hodal road

According to media reports and police, this incident took place on Punhana-Hodal Road in Nuh district. It was told that the accused was removing cow dung cakes near a kutcha hut built near his house. During this time a whole family of snakes came out there.

It is alleged that the person, out of fear or anger, killed all the snakes on the spot. After this he hanged their bodies from a nearby tree, due to which the incident came to public notice.

The length of the killed snakes is said to be from one foot to seven feet. When the local people noticed the snakes hanging from the tree, a huge crowd gathered at the spot. People expressed anger over this inhuman act and immediately informed the police. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and took all the dead snakes into their custody.

Case handed over to Wildlife Department

Police said that information about the incident has been immediately given to the Wildlife Department. The team of the department has been called to the spot, which will decide under which sections a case will be registered against the accused.

Wildlife experts say that killing any wild creature without permission is a legal crime. Moreover, hanging dead bodies in public is a serious and punishable crime.

Bichhor police station in-charge Jasveer Singh said,"The wildlife department has been informed about the dead snakes. Further legal action will be taken based on the complaint of the department."
