India’s strong preparations on LAC, ready to answer China on every front
News India Live, Digital Desk: These days, the Indian Army is making its preparations very fast on the India-China border, which is called the Line of Actual Control (LAC). After the lessons learned from the Galwan Valley conflict of 2020, India has made a major change in its defense strategy. Now our emphasis is not just on guarding the border, but on strong preparation to give a befitting reply to any challenge from China. A new burden of infrastructure on the chest of the Himalayas. According to a recent report of the Wall Street Journal and various defense sources, India is currently preparing infrastructure on a war footing in the inaccessible peaks and valleys of the Himalayas. Roads, tunnels, bridges and airstrips are being laid by spending hundreds of thousands of crores of rupees. Its objective is that our army and essential goods can reach the border as soon as possible, which was a big challenge earlier. Important role of Border Roads Organization (BRO) The Border Roads Organization (BRO) is the pivot of this entire campaign. The budget of BRO has reached 810 million dollars in 2025. BRO has constructed more than 2,800 kilometers of roads in the last few years. In 2023 alone, BRO constructed more than 2,222 km of roads, which included a record 72 projects. Thousands of kilometers of new roads, dozens of helipads and many new airports are either being built or being upgraded. A look at the major projects: Nyoma Air Base: Being built at an altitude of 14,000 feet in Ladakh, Nyoma Air Base is just 19 miles (about 30 kilometers) from the China border. This airbase will be capable of landing large transport aircraft like C-130J, which will increase our air power and help in the rapid transportation of troops. India has also built more than 30 helipads and many airstrips have been upgraded. Expansion of air connectivity: The Indian Air Force is upgrading more than 20 airbases on the eastern border. This also includes the construction of a second runway in Leh. Airbases like Chabua and Hashimara are also being improved and modernized, from where Rafale fighter jets fly. China’s concern and India’s preparation. China is also continuously expanding its infrastructure. Building new airbases near Ladakh and upgrading the old airbases is a part of it. China is also rapidly developing Lhunje airbase near Arunachal Pradesh. However, India is also gearing up to face any situation. India has also deployed its S-400 air defense system, which can provide protection up to 400 kilometers from Chinese fighter planes, missiles and drones. Experts say that now China will not be able to easily carry out a surprise attack like 1962. It would not be wrong to say that now the Indian Army is fully prepared for every challenge on LAC.
