Indian engineering students will get a package of Rs 21 lakh, bumper vacancy for freshers. – News
Indian IT sector giant Infosys has opened the treasury for new engineers. The company has decided to offer a package of up to Rs 21 lakh per annum for select technology roles, while significantly increasing the entry-level salary. This move by Infosys is an important part of its strategy to strengthen its hold on ‘AI-first’ and digital-specialized talent. With this new initiative, Infosys has now joined the list of Indian IT companies paying the highest salaries to freshers in campus placements.
From specialist programmer to digital engineer, know how much salary will be given for which role and what is the structure.
Infosys has prepared several salary bands according to different skills and roles. The most attractive package is for ‘Specialist Programmer L3’ (Trainee), where selected candidates will get a package of approximately Rs 21 lakh per annum. After this, an annual offer of around Rs 16 lakh has been made for ‘Specialist Programmer L2’ and Rs 11 lakh for ‘L1’ level. Apart from this, the company has also fixed a base package of around Rs 7 lakh for ‘Digital Specialist Engineer’ (Trained), which is much better than the traditional entry-level salary.
Great opportunity for engineering graduates of 2025 and 2026 batch to start their career in Infosys.
This bumper recruitment drive is specially designed keeping in mind the students of batch 2025 and 2026. In this, B.E. (BE), B.Tech, M.E. (ME), M.Tech, MCA and Integrated M.Sc graduates can apply. The company is especially giving priority to students of circuit branches like Computer Science, IT, ECE and EEE. Infosys plans to hire through both campus and off-campus channels. In the initial phase, the company aims to recruit around 20,000 freshers, a large portion of which will be selected for these high-paying specialist roles.
Company’s big bet to attract premium talent in the era of Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing
The main reason behind such a huge package is the rapid change happening in the world of technology. Infosys is now completely moving towards an “AI-First” model. In today’s era, the demand for high-end skills like Generative AI, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security and Data Engineering is skyrocketing. The company believes that the need of the hour is to pay premium salaries to talent expert in these niche skills. While companies like TCS, Wipro and HCL offer normal freshers between Rs 3.5 to Rs 7 lakh, Infosys’ offer of Rs 21 lakh will further intensify the talent war.
Opportunity for students with coding and high-tech skills to stand out from the mass-hiring crowd
What this means for students is that if they have strong coding, system design and AI/ML skills, they can now move beyond the “mass-hiring” packages of Rs 4-5 lakh and go straight into the specialist track. However, it is important to note that these high salary packages are only for selective and high-skilled roles. The base salary for general developer or support roles will still remain in the range of Rs 4 to 5.5 lakh, so the competition among students to get these premium positions is going to be very tough.
