Social media influencer Orry, also known as Orhan Awatramani, has come out in strong defense of Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor. The confrontation comes after YouTuber Dhruv Rathee posted a video alleging that several Bollywood celebrities have undergone cosmetic procedures.
In his video, Dhruv Rathee named actors including Janhvi Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Shruti Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Shilpa Shetty, Kajol, and Priyanka Chopra. He claimed they have used plastic surgery, botox, fillers, or skin-lightening treatments. Janhvi Kapoor’s face was featured prominently in the thumbnail, accompanied by supposed “before and after” images, which sparked a heated discussion online.
Orry criticized the timing of Dhruv’s video, noting that Janhvi had recently shared an Instagram Story addressing the mob killing of Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh. “He makes a video about her looks just hours after she speaks on a serious issue,” Orry said, highlighting the insensitivity of the post.
He also accused Dhruv of seeking attention and called him “anti-nationalist.” Orry remarked, “I only know him as that anti-nationalist who complains about not getting photographed at a train station despite having followers.”
This is not the first time Dhruv Rathee’s videos have sparked controversy. His recent critique of Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, also received backlash, with accusations of spreading propaganda.
