‘Chhaava’, ‘Sayara’ and ‘Dhurandhar’ films were popular
The year 2025 is about to end. If we assess the success and failure of Hindi films this year, three films were the most popular. These three films are ‘Chhaava’, ‘Sayara’ and ‘Dhurandhar’. These days, the success of the film ‘Dhurandhar’ has brightened the film world. The film was released on December 5 and in just 22 days, ‘Dhurandhar’ has become the most successful film of this year by earning more than Rs 700 crore across the country. Whereas even in foreign countries, ‘Dhurandhar’ has earned around Rs 300 crore till now. Earlier in 2024, the Hindi version of ‘Pushpa-2’ had earned its name by earning Rs 830 crore. It will be known later whether ‘Dhurandhar’ destroys the record of ‘Pushpa-2’ or not. But from the pace at which ‘Dhurandhar’ is still progressing, it is clear that this film will have a lot more in its kitty. However, in the third weekend of its release, ‘Dhurandhar’ has gone ahead of everyone in terms of earnings by defeating this year’s ‘Chhaava’ and previous years’ ‘Baahubali-2’, ‘Stree-2’ and ‘Pushpa-2’. ‘Pushpa-2’ was originally a South film, although its Hindi version also became the highest grosser till date. Till now ‘Stree-2’ has topped the Mumbai film industry by earning Rs 627 crore.
Here this year, the way some other films have also done well at the ticket window, all the distributors and exhibitors along with other filmmakers are feeling that after the Corona period, the good days of cinema have started returning again. This year, ‘Chhava’ did a business of more than Rs 600 crore. There ‘Sayara’ had also done a net business of around Rs 338 crores. Apart from this, the films which did net business between Rs 150 crore to less than Rs 200 crore were ‘Mahavatar Narasimha’, ‘Raid-2’, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, ‘Housefull-5’ and ‘War-2’. But ‘War-2’ failed even after collecting Rs 185 crore because the budget of this film was Rs 400 crore. Similarly, despite doing a business of Rs 124 crore, ‘Thama’ also flopped because its budget was also around Rs 150 crore. Then, despite earning Rs 103 crore, big budget Salman Khan’s ‘Sikander’ also failed at the ticket window.
On the other hand, the films which have made their name among the successful films by doing net business of more than 100 crores are ‘Jolly LLB-3′, Sky Force’ and ‘Tere Ishq Mein’. Then, due to low budget, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ remained average by earning Rs 93 crore and Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat’ earned Rs 90 crore. There Harshvardhan Rane’s ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewangi’ with a budget of Rs 35 crore became a hit film earning Rs 80 crore. Then the major unsuccessful films of the year were ‘Son of Sardar-2’, ‘Param Sundari’, ‘Baaghi-4’ and ‘120 Bahadur’. But overall this year was good for Mumbai film industry.
