Moradabad.There was a sensation late night in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh when a fierce encounter took place between the police and a dangerous wanted criminal. This incident took place in Civil Lines police station area, due to which an atmosphere of chaos was created in the entire area. People came out of their homes and there was silence on the streets.
It all started when a police team patrolling near an under-construction bridge near village Bhatwali on Agwanpur Road spotted a suspicious bike rider. The policemen tried to stop him for routine checking, but what happened next was no less than a film scene.
Firing on police, then accused got injured in retaliation
As soon as the signal to stop was given, the young man suddenly took out a weapon from his waist and started firing rapidly at the police team. The policemen had a narrow escape, but did not lose courage. In self-defence, the police also retaliated, in which the accused was shot in the leg. Groaning in pain, he fell there and the police caught him in an injured condition. As soon as the news of this encounter spread, there was panic in the area.
The accused of raping a minor was absconding
The arrested accused has been identified as Asim son of Shaukeen (aged about 32 years). He is a resident of Monday market and the police station falls in Civil Lines area. Police said that this man had absconded after committing a heinous incident of rape with a minor girl just two days ago. Since then the police was busy searching for him and raiding many places.
Confessed to the crime during interrogation, turned out to be a vicious criminal
When the accused was strictly interrogated in police custody, he confessed to his crime. He told how he committed this heinous crime with the minor. Police officials say that Asim is a vicious criminal, who also has an old record. To avoid arrest, he did not even hesitate to open fire at the police. Seeing his courage, even the police are surprised that he was ready to take such a big risk.
Illegal weapons and cartridges recovered from the accused
After the encounter, the police searched the accused and recovered dangerous items from him. The police found an illegal pistol, along with two live cartridges and two spent cartridges. It is clear from these spent cartridges that he had really fired at the police. Apart from this, a mobile phone was also seized from the accused, in which perhaps more evidence can be found. The police is now investigating the details of this phone.
CO reached the spot, tight security
As soon as information about this entire matter was received, Civil Lines CO Kuldeep Gupta immediately reached the spot with heavy police force. He himself inspected the spot and gave instructions to collect all the evidence. Security arrangements have been further tightened to prevent any untoward incident in the area. Additional police have been deployed in the surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, accused Asim, who was injured by a bullet in his leg, was immediately taken to the district hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. Doctors say that his condition is stable, but he is admitted under police surveillance. As soon as he recovers, he will be produced in the court.
