Lucknow. Yogi Adityanath Government of UP has presented a strong model of success in the country by running many welfare schemes for women. Women’s security and development has now become not just a matter of plans, but a document of concrete social change. The changes that have taken place in the lives of women, adolescent girls and girls in the state in the last one year under the leadership of CM Yogi are visible on the ground as well. This change is not just about help, but about security, self-reliance, respect and opportunity.

Revolutionary impact of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme
Under this scheme, 25.5 lakh women and girls have been made aware through a total of 13612 activities this year. Its objective is to develop positive thinking in the society towards the birth of girl child, to protect the girl child by ending the process of sex selection and to improve the child sex ratio. This scheme has played an important role in making girls self-reliant through education, encouraging their higher education and bringing awareness regarding issues related to girls like safety, nutrition, health etc.
Effective changes through Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana
Kanya Sumangala Yojana has become one of the most influential social schemes of the Yogi government. This year, 3.28 lakh girls were benefited under the scheme with an amount of Rs 130.03 crore. The assistance provided at six stages from birth to higher education changed the social thinking towards daughters and gave new strength to girls’ education.

Financial support for destitute women
Under the Destitute Women Pension Scheme, 38.58 lakh women are being given regular monthly assistance. This year approximately Rs 1200 crore has been spent on the scheme. In the recently presented supplementary budget, a provision of about Rs 535 crore has been made for this scheme. This scheme of Yogi Adityanath government provided the basis of a respectable life to widows, abandoned and helpless women. The transparent selection process and DBT system ensured that the benefits reached the genuine beneficiaries directly. This year, under the Rani Laxmibai Child and Women Honor Fund, compensation amounting to about Rs 116.36 crore was provided to 3519 victims.
Women got security cover from Mission Shakti
Mission Shakti, being run under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with the aim of protecting, empowering and respecting women and children, is in its fifth phase. Under the Mission Shakti campaign, the Women and Child Development Department has made an effort to reach out to approximately 9 crore people and sensitize them about the welfare schemes, facilities and laws run for women and children in the state. Under Mission Shakti, 28 departments including Women and Child Development Department, Home Department, social service organizations and educational institutions are participating in the state. To reduce the distance between the local administration and the general public and for women to openly express their problems and suggestions, “Haq Ki Baat with the District Magistrate” and “Swavalamban Camp” are being organized successfully.
Women are getting quick justice

More than 75 one stop centers are operating in the state to provide medical, legal counseling and police assistance to women victims of violence at one place. This year 24671 women have received help from these centres. This system is a successful example of the ‘zero tolerance’ policy of the Yogi government in the matter of women’s safety. 181 Women Helpline has now become a reliable security cover for the women of the state. Through this 24-hour service, quick assistance is being provided in case of emergency. This year, 56507 women have been provided assistance in cases related to domestic violence, harassment and emergency assistance. Under the Hub for Empowerment of Women, women, adolescent girls and girls are being made aware about the government schemes being run for them.
Safe shelter for working and destitute women
Yogi Adityanath government has also taken important steps in providing safe accommodation to destitute, abandoned and working women. Under Mata Ahilyabai Holkar Shramjeevi Women Hostel Scheme, hostels of 500-500 capacity are being built in 7 districts. Under Shramjeevi Women’s Hostel, 8 working women’s hostels are being constructed in Lucknow, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar. Government women’s shelters are running in 8 districts of the state. Krishna Kutir with a capacity of 1000 is running for destitute women in Mathura. Yogi Adityanath government is similarly providing safe shelter to women through 14 Shakti Sadans and 13 Sakhi Niwas in the state.
