Gwalior police will not release you if you drink and drive on New Year, SP issues instructions to officers

Along with the entire country, the people of Gwalior are also excited to welcome the New Year, but they have to keep in mind that if they spoil someone else’s celebration, if they drink and drive, the Gwalior police will not leave them. A team of 35 special policemen under the leadership of SP Dharamveer Singh will be deployed with breath analyzers, today this team was given training.

On the instructions of SP Dharamveer Singh, a special campaign has been started for the prevention of drunk and driving on the occasion of New Year under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police (Central/Traffic) Anu Beniwal. For this, a special team of 35 police officers and employees was formed and they were given training in the use of breath analyzer in the police control room.

35 member police team will be deployed from today onwards

SP said that this team will conduct intensive checking using hand analyzer in major intersections, highways and crowded areas of the city from today itself. Strict action will be taken against those driving under the influence of alcohol, overspeeding and driving without helmet, so that citizens can welcome the New Year in a safe and peaceful manner.

Training given in use of breathalyzer

DSP Traffic Ajit Singh Chauhan, Police Station Incharge Traffic Compu Inspector K.P. S. Tomar, police station in-charge Traffic Jhansi Road Inspector Dhananjay Sharma and police station in-charge Gola Ka Mandir Subedar Abhishek Raghuvanshi gave detailed training to the police team in the use of breath analyzer.

There will be a fine of Rs 10,000 under the Motor Vehicle Act

The team was told that for driving under the influence of alcohol, a minimum fine of Rs 10,000 and other legal action would be taken by the court under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act. Police Station Incharge Traffic Compu Inspector K.P.S. Tomar gave a detailed practical to the present police officers and employees regarding how to test drunken drivers through breath analyzer.

Strict action will be taken against those who violate the rules

It is noteworthy that in view of the increase in cases of reckless driving every year during New Year celebrations, this year Gwalior Police has adopted a zero tolerance policy against drunk and drive. On-the-spot investigation will be conducted with the help of hi-tech equipment and strict action will be ensured against those violating the rules.
