Features

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota jointly developed the Hyryder and Grand Vitara. Like the Highrider, the Grand Vitara also has a mild-hybrid powertrain. It is a 1462 cc K15 engine that produces approximately 100 bhp at 6000 RPM and 135 Nm of torque at 4400 RPM. It has a mild hybrid system and is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. This powertrain is the only engine to offer an AWD option. It is also the most fuel-efficient car in its segment.

Hybrid engine technology in Maruti Grand Vitara

The Maruti Grand Vitara is offered with a hybrid engine. A hybrid car uses two different motors. The first motor in this is the petrol engine, which works like a normal fuel car. The second motor is the electric motor, which we find in electric vehicles. The power of both these engines is used together to drive the car.

When the car runs on the petrol engine, at the same time the battery also receives energy and is charged automatically. This battery acts like an engine to provide additional power when needed.

The Grand Vitara also has an EV mode option. In EV mode, the car is powered entirely by an electric motor. The battery supplies energy to the electric motor and the electric motor powers the wheels. This process happens completely silently, so there is no noise.

In hybrid mode, however, the car’s petrol engine acts as an electric generator, while the electric motor powers the car’s wheels.
