US-China conflict intensifies: Beijing’s decision creates stir!
News Desk. Tension between America and China has once again intensified. In response to America’s recent action regarding Taiwan, China has taken a tough stance and imposed sanctions on 20 American defense companies and 10 officials. After this decision, there has been a stir in global politics and defense markets.
In fact, America has recently approved an arms deal worth $11.1 billion to Taiwan. Under this deal, American companies will provide many modern weapons to Taiwan including Harpoon, Javelin and wire-guided missiles. As soon as this deal became public, China called it a direct challenge to itself.
Why did China get angry on Taiwan issue?
China has long considered Taiwan as its integral part and has also talked about its merger many times. Beijing clearly says that any international intervention related to Taiwan is an attack on its sovereignty and territorial integrity. China’s Foreign Ministry said in its official statement that the issue of Taiwan is related to China’s core interests.
Which American companies were banned?
The companies banned by China are mainly related to defense, drones and military technology. These include prominent names: A total of 20 companies including Northrop Grumman Systems, L3Harris Maritime Services, Boeing (St. Louis Unit), Red Cat Holdings, Teal Drones, Epirus, Dedrone Holdings, Blue Force Technologies, Rhombus Power, Lazarus Enterprises. Apart from these, 10 American officials have also been included in the sanctions list.
What will China do under sanctions?
According to China’s Foreign Ministry, under the sanctions: the movable and immovable assets of these companies and officials in China will be confiscated, there will be a complete ban on trade, investment and transactions within China, sanctioned officials will not be allowed to enter China, Hong Kong and Macau, any type of business activity will be strictly monitored. China has clearly said that the response to any provocative action in the Taiwan issue can be even harsher.
