‘Interference not tolerated…’ Why did DK Shivakumar get angry at Pinarayi Vijayan, know what is the whole matter
DK Shivkumar vs Pinarayi Vijayan: The war of words has intensified between Karnataka and Kerala. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has hit back strongly at Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Shivakumar on Saturday bluntly said that Vijayan should not interfere in the internal affairs of the neighboring state.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, through a Facebook post on Friday, had raised questions over the action taken in Bengaluru’s Fakir Colony and Wasim Layout. He had alleged that bulldozers were used on the houses of Muslim families living there for years, which is very painful and shocking.
DK Shivkumar said counter attack
Reacting to this, DK Shivakumar retaliated against the Kerala CM. Talking to journalists, he said that all this is just political rhetoric and election time tricks. He said that a senior leader like Vijayan should not comment without knowing the truth.
What else did DK Shivkumar say?
Describing the reality of the matter, Shivkumar said that some people had encroached on the land in question. This place was actually a garbage dumping site and an old stone quarry. It is a very dangerous place to live and has many serious health risks.
He clarified that the slum dwellers had tried to occupy it illegally, which is a form of land grabbing. The government and the local MLA have also declared it dangerous, hence it was necessary to take this step keeping in mind the safety.
Eligible people will get alternative place: DK
DK Shivakumar stressed that the Congress government in Karnataka works on the basis of humanity and there is no bulldozer culture in his state. He said that we are only protecting the government land located in the middle of the city. The government will provide alternative places to the eligible people as per the rules.

It is noteworthy that Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan had said that human dignity becomes the first victim in a regime based on fear and cruelty. In response to this, Shivkumar has appealed to Vijayan not to talk like this.
