India U19 squad 2026: BCCI has announced the Indian team for the Under-19 World Cup 2026 on 27 December. A total of 15 players have got a place in the team. Ayush Mhatre has once again got the captaincy of the Indian team. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has also got a chance in the team. Apart from this, BCCI has also announced Under-19 Team India for the 3-match ODI series against South Africa.
Vaibhav became captain
Before the Under-19 World Cup 2026, the Indian team will tour South Africa, where a 3-match ODI series will be played against the Proteas team. Ayush Mhatre has been rested for this series. Vaibhav Suryavanshi will take over the captaincy in his place. Mhatre has a wrist injury. Therefore he will not participate in the series against South Africa. But Mhatre will be the captain of Team India in the Under-19 World Cup.

Earlier, the Indian team had shown a brilliant performance in the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025. India had traveled till the final in Asia Cup 2025. Although Pakistan won the title by defeating India.
