Inspector beaten over fish dispute in Bihar, Sarpanch accused of bullying

Desk: Sarpanch’s dominance has come to light in Katra police station area of ​​Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. The Inspector, who had come to resolve the fishing dispute, was fatally attacked by the local Sarpanch and his supporters. The sub-inspector was seriously injured in this incident. The injured police officer has been identified as Inspector Shrikant Singh posted at Katra police station. He was immediately admitted to Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH), where he is undergoing treatment.

Serious allegations against Sarpanch: It is alleged that despite the tender period being over, Sarpanch Fahad Azam and his supporters were stopping the current tender holder Jitendra Sahni from fishing in the pond. Because of this the dispute escalated and Jitendra Sahni lodged a complaint with the police.

Quick action of police and statement of SSP: As soon as the information was received, additional police force from Katra police station reached the spot and controlled the situation. Muzaffarpur SSP Sushil Kumar took a strict stance on the incident and said that those who take the law into their own hands will not be spared. On the basis of video footage, the accused have been identified and an FIR has been registered against them and raids are underway. The matter is being investigated at the DSP level.
