Big accident happened in Bangladesh Premier League, Dhaka Capitals assistant coach Mehboob Ali Zaki suddenly fell on the field, lost his life.
Sylhet. Dhaka Capitals’ assistant coach Mahboob Ali Zaki died after collapsing on the field before the match against Rajshahi Royals in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) tournament on Saturday. Zaki was 59 years old. Today, the Capitals team was preparing before the match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. During this time Zaki fell on the ground. He was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by team members and medical personnel before being taken to hospital by ambulance. He was taken to Al Haramain Hospital, where he was declared dead.
BCB Chief Physician Debashish Choudhary confirmed Zaki’s death. Dhaka team officials said that Zaki had not complained of any health problem before the incident. Players from several BPL teams were rushed to a hospital in Sylhet after Dhaka Capitals assistant coach Mahboob Ali Zaki collapsed on the field shortly before the match. Zaki came into limelight in 2016 when he worked with Taskin Ahmed to investigate his actions during the T20 World Cup in India. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed deep sorrow and condolences on the demise of specialist fast bowling coach Mahboob Ali Zaki.
He said that BCB expresses its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the cricket community at this difficult time and prays for the peace of the departed soul. Zaki, a former fast bowler, had represented Comilla district in the National Cricket Championship. He also played in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.
