Steps are being taken to stop the Russia-Ukraine war that has been going on for the last four years. In an effort to stop this, there will be a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a resort in Florida on Sunday. The talks to be held here will be about ending the war between Russia and Ukraine that has been going on for almost four years.

“We are not wasting a single day in the hope of peace,” Zelensky said. We are trying every day for peace. That is why we have decided to hold talks with America at the highest level, many important decisions can be taken in that meeting. Zelensky said that he had good talks with the US President’s envoy Steve Witcalf and son-in-law Jared Kushner regarding stopping the war. Zelensky had said on Tuesday that he can withdraw his troops from the areas under his control in Eastern Ukraine (Donbass), but Russia will also have to withdraw its troops from there and create a demilitarized zone there in which international security forces will be deployed.
This statement of Zelensky has come amid Trump’s efforts to end the war. Whereas Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said that a slow but steady and concrete process for peace is going on. Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a positive signal to US President Trump on Ukraine’s latest peace proposal. On Putin’s behalf, his foreign affairs adviser Yuri Ushakov has spoken to US officials by telephone. But Russia has given no indication of agreeing to withdraw its troops from conquered areas of eastern Ukraine.
Russia occupies 90 percent area of Donbass

Russia wants complete control over the mineral-rich and industrially developed Donbass (Luhansk and Donetsk provinces), which is why it is stipulating the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from even the small remaining part there. However, in the last four years of war, Russia has occupied 90 percent of the area of Donbass.
Two people killed in Kharkiv also in Russian attack
Meanwhile, one person has died and three have been injured in Russia’s latest guided bomb attack in Ukraine-controlled Zaporizhia. Two people have also been killed in Kharkiv in the Russian attack. Six people have been injured in another attack in Ukraine’s Uman city. Whereas Ukraine has claimed that Russia’s Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery has suffered heavy damage in the attack by Britain’s Storm Shadow missile.
