Nefarious intentions of Pakistan! Making defense agreement with Bangladesh to surround India from two sides

-If nuclear agreement is included in this deal, India’s concern will increase.

Islamabad. High Pakistani defense officials have frequently visited Bangladesh in the last few months. From Pakistan’s Joint Chiefs of Staff chairperson, Navy chief to ISI chief Lieutenant General Asim Malik, everyone has gone to Dhaka as Mohammad Yunus is taking Bangladesh away from India to Pakistan. This comes amid rising tensions with India, with Pakistan and Bangladesh now eyeing a defense pact, similar to the one Islamabad struck with Saudi Arabia.

According to media reports, in September, Saudi Arabia signed a strategic mutual defense agreement with nuclear-armed country Pakistan. However, what caught attention was its language – an attack on either country would be considered an attack on both countries. Pakistan saw the agreement as a strategic defense against India, which had brought Islamabad to its knees during Operation Sindoor in May.

According to the report, there is now discussion that Pakistan is preparing to make such a NATO-style defense agreement with Bangladesh. This will be the first such agreement since Bangladesh’s independence in 1971. The irony is that the Pakistani army had massacred millions of Bangladeshis in the war. Elections are going to be held in Bangladesh in two months, so Pakistan wants to complete this agreement as soon as possible.

According to two media reports, the two countries have already established a joint mechanism to draft the proposed agreement. When this agreement is reached, it will open the way for Bangladesh and Pakistan to officially share intelligence, conduct joint military exercises and even enter into arms deals. There is no information whether the agreement will include nuclear cooperation. If this happens, it will definitely be a cause for concern for India.

Let us tell you that the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh, which has adopted an anti-India stance after the assassination of fundamentalist leader Sharif Usman Hadi, has given Pakistan a platform to push for a defense agreement. On Tuesday, a leader of Pakistan’s ruling party called for a formal military alliance between the two countries, further fueling the speculation. Pakistan Muslim League leader Kamran Saeed Usmani said that if India attacks Bangladesh, Pakistan will stand with Dhaka with full force. He argued that a Pakistan-Bangladesh military partnership would significantly change the regional balance of power.

Quoting officials, India has not commented on the matter but is monitoring the developments. If such an agreement is struck, it could pose a potential security challenge on the eastern front, especially if it involves nuclear cooperation. This matches well with Pakistan’s two-pronged war strategy against India. Creating pressure from both west and east. This is why Pakistan wants the agreement to be formalized under the Yunus administration, which has focused on distancing Bangladesh from India and building closer ties with Islamabad.
