‘There are many sleeper cells in Congress… there is a need to identify them’, Digvijay Singh raised the question in the CWC meeting; Know what Kharge and other leaders said then? During CWC meeting Congress leader Digvijay Singh said that there are many sleeper cells within the party

New Delhi. Senior leader of Madhya Pradesh Laxman Singh had said on June 15, 2025 that BJP has many sleeper cells in Congress. Laxman Singh has been expelled from Congress. Now Laxman Singh’s brother and veteran Congress leader Digvijay Singh has also said the same thing. According to news channel Aaj Tak, Digvijay Singh said in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Saturday that there are many sleeper cells in Congress. Digvijay Singh demanded that these sleeper cells should be identified. Digvijay Singh also said that Congress talks about agitation and protest, but the organization is not strong.

According to the news, Digvijay Singh said in the CWC meeting that a strong organization is needed to fight BJP and remove it from power. According to the news, after listening to Digvijay Singh, Congress General Secretary and MP KC Venugopal said that when information about the work the party is doing to build the organization is posted on social media, the party people do not even retweet. On this point of Venugopal, Digvijay Singh talked about the existence of many sleeper cells in Congress and their identity. The news quoted sources as saying that when Digvijay Singh kept talking about strengthening the organization, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge interrupted him and said that he wanted to listen to other leaders also. Many other leaders asked Digvijay not to raise issues other than MNREGA.

Digvijay Singh has been the CM of Madhya Pradesh. At one time he was also called the political guru of Rahul Gandhi. Digvijay Singh did not talk about strengthening the Congress organization just like that. Since the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Congress has been defeated by BJP in most of the elections. Congress governments are only in Himachal, Karnataka and Telangana. Whereas, he is included in the government in Jharkhand under the umbrella of JMM. In Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference had contested the assembly elections with the Congress, but there is not a single Congress minister in the Omar Abdullah government. At the same time, Congress leaders also give such statements, which BJP capitalizes on in its favor. In this way, Digvijay Singh raising questions on the weakness of the organizational structure of Congress will be considered as an attempt to show the right path to the party.
