They don’t have anything until I approve it

Washington. US President Donald Trump has taken a tough stance on Ukraine’s peace initiative, saying Ukrainian President Zelensky has no significant influence without Washington’s support. In an interview, Trump said that until I approve it, he has nothing. So we’ll see what they have. He said he was confident that the talks could be fruitful. Zelensky is expected to meet Trump in Florida and has said he will present a new 20-point peace plan. The plan includes proposals for a demilitarized zone and talks are expected to focus on US security guarantees for Ukraine.
According to media reports, Trump showed no haste in supporting Kiev’s latest proposal. Predicting a constructive meeting, he indicated that he did not fully agree with Zelensky’s proposals without looking at them in detail. Trump said that I think the conversation with him will be good. I think it would be good to have a conversation with Vladimir Putin as well and added that he hopes to talk to the Russian President soon, I would like that.
Trump’s comments came after Zelensky said that he had a good conversation with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner as diplomatic activities regarding the conflict intensified. The attacks follow US airstrikes on ISIS targets in Nigeria, which Trump described as retaliation for the killing of Christians. Trump said he personally had postponed the attacks by a day for symbolic reasons.
Zelensky had said that his peace plan is 90 percent ready and he wants the final seal on security guarantees with America. However, Trump has made it clear that America is not just an ally but in a decisive role. Trump said that Zelensky has nothing until I approve it. We will see what they have to offer.
