Major rail accident in Jamui: Cement laden goods train derails, 5 coaches fall into river

A major train accident occurred late Saturday night in Jamui district of Bihar. A goods train laden with cement derailed on the railway bridge over Badua river near Telwa Bazar Halt on Jasidih-Simultala railway section under East Asansol Railway Division. In the accident, at least five coaches of the goods train derailed and fell directly into the river.

According to the information, this upline goods train was going from Asansol towards Jhajha carrying cement. Suddenly at around 11:40 pm the train coaches went out of control and derailed. After the incident, railway administration and technical teams have reached the spot and relief and restoration work has been started. At present, the operation of trains on this railway section has been affected and the reasons for the accident are being investigated.
