Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, “I heartily congratulate all the Congressmen on the Foundation Day of the Congress. Along with this, I also wish you all a happy New Year in advance. The Congress was established in Mumbai on December 28, 1885. Since then, for 62 years, crores of Congressmen fought against the British, made sacrifices and sacrifices, endured difficult tortures in jail, only then the country got independence. I congratulate all the builders of the Congress and the freedom fighters. I pay tribute to the heroes who established the Constitution and strong democracy. I want to say that Congress will continue every possible effort for the India of their dreams. The fundamental rights created by Congress before independence became a part of our Constitution, but today both the Constitution and democracy are in danger.
Kharge further said, “Those who say – ‘Congress is finished’, I want to tell them – we may have less power, but our spine is still straight. We did not compromise, neither with the Constitution, nor with secularism, nor with the rights of the poor. We may not be in power, but we will not bargain. Congress never asked for votes in the name of religion, Congress never spread hatred on temples and mosques. Congress adds, BJP breaks. Congress kept religion as religion, but today they do not have the truth, sometimes the census is stopped, their ancestors were running away from history.
The Congress President said, “Mahatma Gandhi ji, Indira Gandhi ji, Rajiv Gandhi ji gave martyrdom to protect the highest values of the country like unity, integrity, secularism and social justice. The year 2025 is the centenary of Mahatma Gandhi becoming the Congress President, 75 years of the acceptance of the Constitution, 150th birth anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’. At the same time, the year 2026 is the 200th birth anniversary of Dadabhai Naoroji. It is the centenary of Sarojini Naidu becoming the Congress President. Many countries of the world became independent in 1947. Only India became the largest democracy in the world due to the great leaders of Congress.
On the foundation day of the Congress, Kharge said, “Because of the vision of our heroes, India stood with respect in front of the world in strategic areas like agriculture, space and nuclear. During the long rule of the Congress, historic works were done that changed the image of the country. From the Green Revolution to the communication and information revolution, the automobile revolution, the era of liberalization came. India left its mark on the world in every field. All these are major achievements of the Congress.”
