The Ashes 2025-26 Boxing Day Test: The fourth match of Ashes 2025-26 was Boxing Day Test. Cricket lovers are very excited to watch the Boxing Day Test every year, but this year i.e. the Boxing Day Test of 2025 ended within just 48 hours i.e. 2 days. After the early end of the match, Australia is reportedly in danger of incurring a loss of more than Rs 60 crore.

Let us tell you that the match was played at Melbourne Cricket Ground. This ground has a seating capacity of more than 1 lakh people. Both sides of the Boxing Day Test had come to the stands in large numbers to watch the match.

Third day was sold out (Boxing Day Test)

The third day of the match was also sold out i.e. all the tickets for the third day were sold. But, the match could not reach till the third day. The match was over in just 852 balls within two days.

20 wickets fell on the very first day (Boxing Day Test)

Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg said that he did not sleep properly after seeing 20 wickets fall on the first day. “As exciting, fascinating and enjoyable as it has been to watch Test cricket as a fan, we want it to last much longer,” he said on SEN Radio.

The CEO further said, “To put it simply, short Test matches are not good for business. Can’t say anything more than that. So I would like to see a little better balance between bat and ball. I felt that yesterday’s match was a little in favor of the ball. The batsmen also have some contribution in it.”

Condition of the match (Boxing Day Test)

Talking about the match, Australia was all out for 152 runs in its first innings. After this, the English team was limited to only 110 runs in its first innings. Then Australia scored 132 runs in its second innings. After this, England came on the field for run chase and won by scoring 178 runs for 6 wickets.
