The flames were so terrible that they could be seen even from remote parts of the city. As soon as the information was received, several fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and after hours of hard work the fire was brought under control. It is a matter of relief that the school campus was completely empty due to Christmas holidays, due to which there was no loss of life. Taking precautions, the administration had evacuated the surrounding buildings and the roads were closed. Local mayors and political leaders have expressed deep sorrow over this historic loss and have assured all possible help in rebuilding the institute.
