VIP reception of Neeraj-Himani’s wedding: PM Modi arrived to give blessings, presented the idol of Shri Ram

Saturday evening was something special in a luxury hotel in Delhi. The atmosphere was relaxed, guests were limited and security was very strict. The occasion was the grand reception of Olympic gold medalists Neeraj Chopra and Himani Mor. Where the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself came to bless the newly married couple.

Private but grand event held at Leela Hotel

This VIP reception organized at Leela Hotel in Delhi was kept completely under protocol. As soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived, Neeraj and Himani touched his feet and took blessings, during this time family members were also present. Along with wishing the new couple, the Prime Minister also presented a beautiful idol of Lord Shri Ram. This moment became special for the people present there.

Security arrangements were very tight

In view of the presence of the PM, special security arrangements were made in the hotel premises. Strict checking was done before entry and no luggage of any kind was allowed inside. However, permission was given to carry mobile phones. Security agencies remained on alert mode during the entire program.

Only 150 special guests got invitation

This reception was kept completely private and in total only about 150 selected VIP guests were invited. Invitations were also sent to President Draupadi Murmu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and former President Ramnath Kovind. However, due to busy schedules he could not attend the program. The reception started at around 7 pm and the program continued till 11:30 pm. About 30 women from both the families especially participated in the program. Emphasis was laid on simplicity and dignity rather than deliberately making the event grandiose.

It is noteworthy that Neeraj Chopra and Himani Mor exchanged vows on January 19, 2025 in a very private ceremony at a resort in Solan. After this, two separate receptions were organized in Karnal, Haryana on 25 December. This event in Delhi was the third and most high-profile reception after the wedding.
