Sunil Shetty rejects ₹40 crore tobacco deal

Bollywood veteran Sunil Shetty recently revealed that he declined a massive ₹40 crore offer to endorse a tobacco brand. The 64-year-old actor, now a grandfather, is widely admired for his exceptional fitness and strong personality. Many young people still see him as a role model.

In a recent interview, Shetty explained that he refused the offer because he could not associate himself with a product he does not personally believe in. “I have never compromised my values or my family’s name for money,” he said.

Although he is less active in films and at the box office compared to his prime years, Shetty remains highly respected. He noted that 17- and 18-year-olds still look up to him as an inspiration. He considers this admiration his biggest achievement.

Shetty also shared details about his temporary break from acting. He stepped back to care for his father, who suffered from a long illness and eventually passed away. Interestingly, on the very day of his father’s death, Shetty received an offer to return to films.

The global pandemic made Shetty focus more on his personal well-being. He dedicated time to fitness, mental health, and self-care. According to him, this brought him financial stability, inner peace, and renewed confidence.

He also highlighted the importance of fans and media support. Their consistent appreciation has helped him feel connected to the industry. He emphasized that despite stepping back from active competition at the box office, he has never felt disconnected from cinema.

Sunil Shetty’s decisions reflect a commitment to personal values, family, and social responsibility. His stance on rejecting the tobacco endorsement shows his dedication to being a positive role model. Fans continue to admire him not only for his acting but also for his principles, fitness, and guidance for younger generations.
