Wimbledon 2025: British pair created history by winning the title Gujarati

Britain’s Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool have created history in the men’s doubles final of Wimbledon 2025. In the final, they defeated Australian-Dutch pair Rinke Hijikata and David Pel 6-2, 7-6 (3). Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool became the first British pair to win the Wimbledon men’s doubles title.

Cash and Glasspool displayed tremendous athleticism in the game that lasted 1 hour 23 minutes and achieved victory amid the enthusiastic support of the local supporters. This was his 14th consecutive victory. After the victory, Julian Cesh said, “We played great tennis under pressure. The support of the supporters was invaluable for us. We had set two goals at the beginning of the year – to reach Turin and to win a Grand Slam. Today’s victory is very special for us.”

Julian Cash added, “It was our dream to win on the most special grass court in the world, and today it came true.” In this match the British pair showed dominance from the beginning. In the first set, they broke the serve of the opponent pair and won the set 6-2. The second set reached tiebreak, where he won the match 7-6 (7-3) and won the title. Lloyd Glasspool said, “It’s an extraordinary feeling that we achieved this together. Before there was only one British winner, now there are two.”

In recent years, Andy Murray had gained recognition as Britain’s leading player. He won Wimbledon singles in 2013 and 2016 and also won doubles in 2019. Apart from this, he won gold medals in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics.
