Dhaka Police claims
The Dhaka Police report said that the two main accused in the Usman Hadi murder case crossed the border and entered India. A senior police officer said “No formal or informal information has been received from Bangladesh Police. None of the accused named in the report have been traced to Garo Hills nor have any arrests been made.”
Meghalaya Police Headquarters officials also clarified that there is no evidence to prove the alleged crossing of the border or the role of people who helped the accused. “Neither Purti nor Sami have been identified, traced or arrested anywhere in Meghalaya. This story appears to have been fabricated without verification or coordination with Indian authorities,” the officer said.

BSF Inspector General of Meghalaya Frontier OP Upadhyay also rejected the claims of Dhaka Police. He said “There is no evidence of these persons crossing the International Border into Meghalaya from Haluaghat sector. No such incident has been observed or reported by the BSF.
