Fog spoiled the schedule of flights: IGI Airport Authority issued advisory, said – Passengers should stay in touch otherwise it will be difficult.
New Delhi, 28 December. The severe cold and dense fog in North India has once again put a brake on the speed of air travel. Hundreds of flights were delayed on Saturday and Sunday (December 28), while several flights had to be canceled due to low visibility at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). Due to this, IGI Airport Authority (DIAL) has issued an advisory to the passengers and advised them to stay in touch.
What was said in the advisory?
The authority said that before leaving for the airport, passengers should contact their respective airlines (IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet etc.) and check the ‘real-time status’ of the flight. Let us tell you that CAT-III system is a system which is using modern ‘CAT-III’ technology for landing of aircraft during low visibility at the airport, but despite this, the timing of flights is being changed due to security reasons.
Passengers are facing problems
Since December 23, more than 270 flights have been affected and more than 10 flights have been cancelled. A huge crowd of passengers is being seen at the airport. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), ‘dense to very dense fog’ is expected in North India for the coming few days, due to which this problem may increase further.
