Snoop Dogg faces backlash over Netflix Christmas halftime show
Snoop Dogg has found himself at the centre of online backlash following his Holiday Halftime Party performance during the NFL Christmas Day matchup.
The party streamed live on Netflix on December 25.
Viewers took to social media soon after the show, accusing the rapper of lip-syncing during his performance.
Several fans claimed Snoop’s vocals appeared out of sync, sparking heated debates across X and other platforms.
The criticism did not stop there.
The artist also faced scrutiny over his stage outfit, with some viewers alleging that his red ensemble symbolised MAGA politics.
One user, @ezmoney_me, wrote on X, “Snoop wearing red just doesn’t feel right. I guess he has to capitulate to his president.”
The comment quickly divided fans, with many pushing back against the political interpretation.
Some argued the colour choice was simply festive and being taken out of context.
“Wearing red on Christmas is MAGA now?” one user questioned, while another added, “It’s literally just a red jacket and Democrats are mad about it somehow. LOL.”
Despite the criticism, others defended Snoop Dogg, noting that red is traditionally associated with Christmas and accusing critics of reading too much into the performance.
The rapper has not publicly responded to the controversy.
