India attacked: Foreign Minister

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar admitted in the year-end press briefing that India had targeted Nur Khan Air Base in Chaklala, Rawalpindi in May. He said that the military installation was damaged in this attack and some personnel deployed there were injured.

Open mention of drone attacks

Ishaq Dar also told for the first time that India sent about 80 drones to the Pakistani border within 36 hours. According to him, 79 drones were stopped, but one drone caused damage to the airbase. This statement indirectly acknowledges India’s technological capability and accuracy.

Accepting the truth by saying ‘mistake’

Dar also said that India made a “mistake” by attacking the Noor Khan airbase on the morning of May 10. But the truth hidden in this statement is that the attack happened, there was damage and it cannot be denied now. This statement is contrary to the traditional policy of Pakistan, in which such attacks have been denied.

When did Operation Sindoor happen?

This action of India was taken under Operation Sindoor. This operation was launched in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, in which 26 innocent civilians were killed. India called it a decisive message of self-defense and against terrorism.

Not just one base, many bases affected

Later satellite photos also confirmed this claim. Photos taken by Maxar Technologies showed signs of damage not only to Noor Khan airbase but also to other airbases in Sargodha, Bholari and Jacobabad. This shows that the action was limited but effective.

Pakistan’s internal unrest

According to Dar’s statement, on the night of May 9, an emergency meeting of civil and military leadership was held under the leadership of Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. It is clear from this how serious the situation had become for Pakistan.

sudden peace appeal from war

Seeing the worsening situation, Pakistan’s Directorate General of Military Operations Pakistan contacted India’s DGMO and proposed a ceasefire. India also accepted it showing responsibility. This was confirmed by India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

The truth was admitted earlier also

This is not the first time that Pakistan has had to accept the truth. In May itself, Shehbaz Sharif had admitted in a public program that Indian missiles targeted Noor Khan airbase. This statement raises deep questions on Pakistan’s long-running policy of denial.
