Adani’s mega bet in defense sector, big focus on drone-missile with investment of ₹1.8 lakh crore
Adani Defense and Aerospace Investment 2026: Adani Group, the country’s largest business group, has taken an important decision regarding the defense sector. The company is planning to invest about Rs 1.8 lakh crore in work related to defense production in the coming few years. This money will not be invested all at once, but gradually in different projects.
The company says that in view of the changing times and new types of wars, the old methods will no longer work. For this reason, Adani Group is focusing on making such systems and weapons which can be more useful for the army in future.

Emphasis will be on drones and smart weapons
Adani Group is especially working on those technologies which require less humans. The company is focusing more on drones, autonomous systems and guided weapons.
According to the company, the style of war is going to change significantly in the coming times. Now it will not be necessary to send soldiers directly into the field for every task. With drones and smart systems, tasks like surveillance, attack and security can be done easily.

Adani’s equipment has been used in Operation Sindoor
According to PTI report, some defense products of Adani Group were used in military operations like Operation Sindoor in the year 2025.
This shows that the equipment made by the company is not limited to papers only, but has also been used by the army on the ground.

Many products reached Army, Navy and Air Force
Adani Defense and Aerospace has now joined the few big private defense companies of the country. Many of its products have found place in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.
Drone deployment: Drishti-10 drones made by the company are being used by both the Army and Navy. Their job is to keep an eye on the border, gather information from far-flung areas and conduct surveillance.
Counter Drone System: Adani’s counter-drone system has passed the tests of all three armies. This system identifies enemy drones and neutralizes them.
Missiles and other weapons: The company has also prepared a shoulder-fired missile system. Apart from this, work is also being done on weapons related to electronic warfare.

What are autonomous systems?
Autonomous systems are systems that work on their own without direct help from humans. Sensors, software and technology are used in these.
In the air: Drones can fly for long periods of time. They help in surveillance, espionage and delivery of essential goods.
In water: Unmanned ships keep watch in the sea. They do work like maritime security and mine removal.
On ground: Small robots and vehicles are used for border patrolling, bomb disposal and carrying goods.
The biggest advantage of all this is that the risk to the lives of soldiers is reduced.

Work will speed up by 2026
Adani Group plans to increase the number of drones and smart systems in all three sectors, air, water and land, by the year 2026.
Along with this, new training centers will be built, repair and maintenance facilities will increase, new jobs will be created in the defense sector.

Target of 25% stake in private defense sector
According to reports, Adani Group aims to acquire about 25 percent stake in the country’s private defense sector.
The company believes that this investment will not only strengthen the security of the country, but will also help in making India self-reliant in terms of defence.
