Tezzbuzz Desk- Team India’s legendary batsman Virat Kohli is currently playing for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26, and on Friday he led the team to a thrilling 7-run win against Gujarat. After this spectacular victory, Virat was chosen as the player of the match.
In this match, Kohli played an innings of 77 runs in 61 balls, in which he hit 13 fours and one six. On the basis of his innings, Delhi made a challenging score of 254/9 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. In reply, Gujarat could score only 247 runs.
Actually, in every league match in Vijay Hazare Trophy, the Player of the Match is given a reward of ₹ 10,000, and the same check was handed over to Virat after the match. Although this amount is a standard prize, fans on social media mocked and criticized BCCI over the prize money, as people were surprised that such a small amount was given to a world-class player like Virat.
This was Virat’s second brilliant performance in the tournament. In his first match, he played a century innings of 131 runs against Andhra Pradesh and till now he has continued his excellent form by scoring 208 runs in two matches. Along with this, he has also completed 1000 runs in Vijay Hazare Trophy, which is a big achievement.
This performance of Kohli shows that he is continuously strengthening Delhi with his class and experience in domestic cricket also. Now it is expected that he will show his impact in the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand also, where the performance of Team India will be important.
