‘Mann Ki Baat’: Youth always have passion to do something new: Modi
New Delhi. The Prime Minister saluted the passion of the youth to do something for the country and said that today’s youth want to contribute to nation building through various mediums. In this context, he told that ‘Young Leader Dialogue’ will be organized on January 12, on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, in which he himself will also participate.
In the 129th episode of his monthly program Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, Modi said that the youth of India always have a passion to do something new and they are equally aware. In this sequence, he mentioned the recently concluded Smart India Hackathon, in which students made important contributions towards solving real life challenges.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the last episode of the year of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program with the achievements of the country in the year 2025. He said that this year India has achieved many milestones. Progress in areas such as national security (Operation Sindoor), sports (Women’s World Cup) and scientific innovation have demonstrated India’s influence on the global stage.
He said that in the year 2025, faith, culture and spiritual heritage of India will be visible together. The year started with the Kumbh in Prayagraj and ended with the flag hoisting ceremony of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, which filled every Indian with pride. On technology-related concerns about the future, the Prime Minister said that it is very important for human development to stay connected to our roots. In this context, he mentioned the Sanskrit efforts like ‘Gitanjali’ going on in the Indian Institute of Science. He told that today this effort which started from a small music class with world class research has become the Sanskrit heart of the campus. In this sequence, he also mentioned the Kannada language classes being run for children in Dubai.
The Prime Minister mentioned many such efforts related to the people of Manipur, which are bringing positive changes in the lives of the people. He said that the saying ‘Where there is a will, there is a way’ has been realized by the young Moirangthem Seth ji of Manipur. At the age of 40, he adopted solar power to find a local solution to the electricity problem in his remote area and set an example of self-reliance. At the same time, Chokhone Krichena ji of Senapati district took forward the experience of traditional farming and made flower farming her passion. Today they are empowering local communities by connecting their products to various markets and have become an inspiration for Manipur.
He also mentioned a recent discovery by the Archeology Department in Jammu and Kashmir, under which an ancient Buddhist heritage named Jehanpora has been unearthed in Baramulla. Its pictures have been found safe in the archives of a museum in France. He also said that the lace craft of Narsapuram district of Andhra Pradesh is gaining recognition across the country today. For generations, women have set an example of the creative potential of women power by preserving this traditional art with patience, skill and meticulousness.
The Prime Minister once again talked about the pride of the Tamil language and its ability to connect people across the world. He gave the example of Fiji, where efforts are being made to connect the new generation with Tamil language. He also mentioned the Kashi-Tamil Sangam, in which this time special emphasis was laid on learning Tamil language. This time in the series of unsung heroes of the country, the Prime Minister remembered the contribution of Parvati Giri of Odisha. He told that Parvati Giri had participated in the Quit India Movement at the age of just 16.
At the end of the program, the Prime Minister mentioned the Rann Utsav being organized in Kutch, Gujarat and its cultural aura and appealed to the people to do tourism there. The Prime Minister said that the achievements of 2025 are a testament to India’s collective strength and 2026 will be the year of moving forward with new goals, resolutions and confidence.
