‘That’ shocking decision to retire from Tests
Earlier this year, 37-year-old Virat shocked everyone by suddenly announcing his retirement from Test cricket. The decision was made before the series against England. In the ‘Border-Gavaskar Trophy’ in Australia, Virat’s form was seen to deteriorate. After scoring a century in Perth, he was troubled by balls going off-stump. After this struggle, he decided to bid farewell to the purest form of cricket (Test).
The dominance of the ‘King’ on the white ball continues
However, after retirement, Virat’s bat has started to catch fire in ODI cricket. In the series against South Africa, he scored two centuries and a half-century to prove that he is still the king of the field. Virat has made it clear that his full focus is now on ODI cricket only. So despite the fans’ and Sidhu’s wishes, his return to Test cricket is now considered almost impossible.
