Target to prepare one crore ‘Lakhpati Didi’ in a year, self-reliance campaign will reach every village: CM Yogi

Lucknow: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is moving towards creating a new record in the direction of women empowerment. The state government has set a target of making three crore women economically self-reliant by connecting them with self-help groups. Under this, work has started on a comprehensive action plan to prepare one crore women as ‘Lakhpati Didi’ in a year. Chief Minister Yogi has a clear vision that the women of the state should not just be beneficiaries, but should become partners in economic progress. Under this thinking, agriculture and non-agriculture based livelihood models are being strengthened, so that rural women can get sustainable income opportunities.

Women will become self-reliant

Yogi government is going to connect women from village to village with self-help groups through Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM). Trained teams will contact door-to-door and work to connect women with livelihood. Its complete action plan has been prepared. Women are being trained in agriculture, animal husbandry, dairy, handicrafts, food processing, micro industries and service sectors. Along with this, they are also being provided immediate capital assistance and market support.

Strong women, prosperous state

Unless the women of every village are financially strong, the family and society cannot be completely empowered. In line with this thinking, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials to fulfill this vision on a war footing. Along with this, Yogi government has directed to implement Lakhpati Didi scheme for women in mission mode.

The aim of the Yogi government is that in the coming times, women should not only adopt self-employment but also become employment providers to others. For this, concrete arrangements are being made at all levels of training, technology, market and finance. Under the leadership of CM Yogi, Uttar Pradesh is now becoming not just a state of schemes but an example of women-led development model. This initiative is being considered a big step towards strengthening the economy as well as the social structure of the state.
