Pakistan Squad Shock: Babar, Rizwan and Shaheen out of the team together, what is going on in PCB’s mind?
News India Live, Digital Desk: Brother, perhaps even God cannot guess what Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will do when. Recently a news has come which has again created a stir in the world of cricket. Pakistan has announced its team for the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka. But wait… you will start scratching your head after seeing the team list. Do you know why? Because the four biggest “pillars” of the team are missing from this list. Yes, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi and pace magicians Seem Shah/Haris Rauf (Key Senior Players) are not a part of this squad. Now the question is, what happened? Have they been “dropped” or is the matter something else? Come, let us solve this mystery in simple language. Dropped or discharged? (The Real Reason) First of all, put brakes on the ‘drop’ rumors going on social media. PCB has not dropped these players because of poor form. The real reason is ‘commitment’ and ‘comfort’. You know that currently the Big Bash League (BBL) is going on in Australia. In the shining lights and stadium there, these four Pakistani superstars are playing with different teams and earning a lot of money and name. The PCB has shown a little ‘big heart’ this time. The board says that these players already had BBL contracts and the board did not want any quarrel by calling them in the middle. The simple meaning is – “Go Simran, live your life!” Meaning, “You guys play the league there, we try our new boys here against Sri Lanka.” So who will captain now? When ‘King Babar’ and ‘Rocket Shaheen’ are not there, who will command the team? This time the board has given a surprise. The command of the team has been handed over to Salman Ali Agha. This is a huge opportunity (and test) for him. What is interesting is that Shadab Khan, who was playing Big Bash himself, has been recalled. At the same time, some new faces like Khwaja Nafe have been given a chance. It seems clear that the PCB is now busy preparing for the T20 World Cup 2026 and wants to check its ‘bench strength’. Will this ‘risk’ be too heavy? Look, the team in front is Sri Lanka. And we all know that on their day Sri Lanka can beat any big team. In such a situation, it is not without danger for Pakistan to enter the field without its four main players. This is a decision like a double-edged sword. If the youth team wins, there will be applause, “Wow! New talent has been found.” And if they lose, the fans will curse the PCB, “Why put the league above the country?” Fan’s words (My Take) Being a cricket fan, it is strange to see that foreign leagues are getting more priority than national duty. But perhaps this is the truth of modern cricket. Now rotation will continue in the name of workload management. Well, the series is starting from 7 January 2026. It will be interesting to see whether the ‘Junior Pakistan’ team will be able to face the experienced lions of Sri Lanka or not. What do you think friends? Is this decision of the board right? Will Pakistan be able to win the match without Babar and Rizwan? Please write your opinion in the comment box!
