Gautam Adani’s call to youth to lead India in the age of intelligence

While inaugurating the Sharad Pawar Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CoE-AI) at Vidya Pratishthan in Baramati, Maharashtra, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani had called upon the youth of the country to move forward in the era of intelligence and requested them to take leadership.

Addressing the students and researchers, Adani pointed out that as India enters a critical phase, there is a need of the hour to move forward by linking technology, talent and national purpose. Adani mentioned that the great strength of the Indian soil lies in its ability to directly align its citizens, institutions and long-term vision. This same ability will now shape how young Indians adopt artificial intelligence, not as passive users but as creators and leaders of the potential.

Adani acknowledged concerns about AI, reminding the audience that history has shown that all major technological changes, from the Industrial Revolution to India’s own digital transformation, have expanded human capabilities. He said that AI will take it forward by placing intelligence and productivity directly into the hands of ordinary citizens and will open up ways for youth from all backgrounds to participate in development.

Giving a sharp warning, he clearly said that leadership in AI cannot be outsourced. In a world where intelligence increasingly shapes economic power and national influence, data and decision-making must remain firmly anchored in the national interest, while at the same time risking dependence on foreign algorithms. He stressed that building indigenous AI models, strong computing capabilities and a resilient intelligence ecosystem is essential for India’s economic security, cultural self-confidence and strategic independence.

In line with this vision, Adani pointed out the growing role of the Adani Group in the global AI ecosystem and said that with India emerging as a critical hub for AI-led development, the diverse Adani Group is continuously partnering with global technology leaders like Google and Microsoft by making significant investments in the areas of computer powering data centres, digital infrastructure and clean energy.

Adani had contributed Rs. 25 crore in 2023. This center has been constructed under the Vidya Pratisthan Educational Trust of Baramati. It is an initiative designed to promote advanced research, skill development and industry-oriented training in emerging technologies. According to people involved in the project, the center, which emphasizes collaboration between academia and the private sector, will focus on AI applications in agriculture, healthcare, governance and industry.

Concluding his words, Shri Adani appealed to the students to see this center not as a place of observation but as a place of creation. He said that the age of intelligence gives courage to think independently and create boldly without demanding support.

Calling upon the young India, he said, “This moment is yours,” “History is not to be invented, but to be written.”
