Vijay Hazare Trophy Updates: Rohit Sharma out on first ball, Delhi’s strong challenge due to Kohli-Pant’s fifty

Vijay Hazare Trophy Updates: In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the matches of Mumbai vs Uttarakhand (MUM vs UTK) and Delhi vs Gujarat (DEL vs GUJ) have created tremendous excitement. In both these matches, the big stars of Indian cricket Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant remain in the headlines. While on one hand Rohit Sharma’s early dismissal became a topic of discussion, on the other hand Kohli and Pant proved their class with half-century innings.

Mumbai had a very bad start in the match against Uttarakhand. The team’s experienced batsman Rohit Sharma was out without opening the account on the very first ball. Devendra Singh Bora got Rohit caught on the first ball of the second over of the innings. This out was also shocking because in the previous match, Rohit had played an explosive inning of 155 runs in 94 balls against Sikkim, in which 18 fours and 9 sixes came from his bat. That innings of Rohit, playing List-A cricket after seven years, was considered a great comeback.

After Rohit returned to the pavilion early, Mumbai’s innings was handled by Sarfaraz Khan (55), Mushir Khan (55) and wicketkeeper batsman Hardik Tamore (93). Thanks to the important innings of these three batsmen, Mumbai recovered from the initial setbacks and scored a big score of 331/7.

On the other hand, in the Delhi vs Gujarat match, Delhi team scored 254 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs. For Delhi, Virat Kohli displayed excellent form and scored a half-century of 77 runs in 61 balls and was the team’s top scorer. Captain Rishabh Pant also batted responsibly and scored 70 runs in 79 balls. However, other Delhi batsmen—Priyansh Arya, Nitish Rana and Ayush Badoni—could not make much contribution.

Chasing the target, till the time of writing the news, Gujarat team has scored 129 runs for 4 wickets in 30 overs, while Mumbai’s score against Uttarakhand has already reached a strong position. The performance of big stars in these matches of Vijay Hazare Trophy has further increased the excitement of the tournament.
