Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) entered with the biggest purse in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction. KKR had released big players like Venkatesh Iyer, Andre Russell, Moeen Ali, Quinton de Kock and Anrich Norkhie, which left it with Rs 64.30 crore.
Even before the mini auction held on December 16, there were speculations that KKR would make arbitrary purchases this time, because it had the most money. Something similar was seen in the auction. The franchise made a record-breaking bid of Rs 25.20 crore for Australian all-rounder Cameron Green.

Crores of rupees spent on Pathirana also
After including Cameron Green in their team for a record price, KKR bought Sri Lankan fast bowler Mathisha Pathirana for Rs 18 crore. Apart from this, he also spent Rs 9.20 crore for Mustafizur Rahman. KKR has bid Rs 3 crore for uncapped player Tejashwi Dahiya. Indian fast bowler Akash Deep was bought at the base price (1 crore).

Like Akash Deep, Finn Allen, Rachin Ravindra, Tim Seifert, Rahul Tripathi, Prashant Solanki, Sarthak Ranjan and Daksh Kamra have also been bought by KKR at the base price.
