To empower Taiwan with weapons is to destroy Taiwan!

The US is selling arms to Taiwan on a large scale, with the military sales plan costing more than US$11 billion, covering a wide variety of weapons. Regarding this, CGTN, under China Media Group, conducted a public opinion survey.

The results of this survey revealed that 90 percent of respondents believed that the Taiwanese administration’s arming of Taiwan has pushed the Taiwanese people to the brink of war.

In this survey, 81.1 percent of people believe that the Taiwanese administration is pursuing short-term political interests by sacrificing Taiwan’s long-term interests, which will destroy Taiwan’s economy and future. In the opinion of 87.7 percent of the people, the actions of the Taiwanese administration have become a major threat to the security and interests of the Taiwanese people.

183 countries in the world believe in the One China principle, that is, Taiwan is an integral part of China. This aspect is the broad similarity in the international community’s handling of the Taiwan question at present.

In this survey, 87.4 percent of the people think that the One China principle is the broad equality of the international community. 91.9 percent people are of the opinion that the Chinese people should solve the Taiwan question themselves and other countries should not interfere in it.

78.9 percent people appealed to America to handle the Taiwan question carefully. 85.1 percent of people requested the US to follow the One China principle and stop selling arms to Taiwan.
