VIDEO: Violent clash between police and villagers, mob kicked female inspector, set car on fire, took truck driver hostage
New Delhi. A heart-wrenching video has surfaced from Raipur district of Chhattisgarh. Here a violent clash broke out between the angry villagers and the police, after which the angry villagers beat the policemen fiercely. The mob first beat a female inspector severely with kicks and sticks. When the female inspector became unconscious, the crowd dragged her away. A truck driver was also tied to the truck and beaten by the mob. The villagers also blocked a car coming out of the village. There is still an atmosphere of tension in the area. A large number of police forces have been deployed.

Let us tell you that Gare-Pelma Sector-1 coal block allotted to Jindal Power Limited is going to be built in Tamnar area of Raigarh district. Villagers have been protesting against this for the last 15 days. The protest turned violent on Saturday. When the police arrived to remove the protesting people, the protesters pelted stones at the police team. During this, the protesters set fire to several vehicles and also took a truck driver hostage. During this time, the protesting people also attacked Tamnar police station in-charge female inspector Kamla Pusam. The villagers first kicked and beat the female inspector with sticks. When the female inspector became unconscious, the villagers dragged the female inspector on the road. This violent video of villagers has gone viral on social media. It is clearly visible in the video that the angry crowd went out of control and when Tamnar police station in-charge Kamala Pusham appealed to the people to maintain peace, she was attacked. Many policemen including SDOP Anil Vishwakarma were injured in this clash. Some villagers have also been injured. The police have detained about 40 people and taken them to the police station.

Villagers are opposing JPL coal mine
Let us tell you that the villagers are opposing the coal mine project of JPL. The villagers are demanding cancellation of this project. Due to this, hundreds of villagers from the affected villages were sitting on protest for 15 days. The villagers have alleged that the public hearing was conducted secretly without proper information and despite opposition. Due to this, farmers’ land, environment and livelihood will be in danger.
