New Delhi. Major changes may be seen in the weather in the capital this week. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert today i.e. on Monday. During this period the sky will mainly be clear. In the morning, there will be light fog at many places and dense to very dense fog at some places. According to the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance can affect the western Himalayan region from December 30 and the surrounding plains from December 31. For this, IMD has issued a yellow alert of fog in Delhi. Due to its effect, light rain or drizzle can also be seen in Delhi. A warning has been issued of moderate to dense fog at many places in Delhi on the morning of 29th and 30th December.

There was bright sunshine on Sunday, which brought a lot of relief to the people. However, people are feeling shivering in the morning and evening. During this period, the maximum temperature was recorded at 22.2 degrees and the minimum temperature was 6.3 degrees, 1.8 degrees above normal. It was 0.5 degrees less than normal.

The Meteorological Department has predicted partly cloudy sky in Delhi as well as NCR areas on December 31. Partial clouds may be seen in Delhi on January 1st. Very light rain or drizzle may occur at some places.

There is no improvement in the wind, the wind remains in very poor category
Due to slow wind speed and local factors, the air in the capital remains in the very poor category. In such a situation, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 390 on Sunday. This is a very poor category of air. An increase of five indices was recorded compared to Saturday. On the other hand, the air of Greater Noida remained the most polluted in NCR. AQI 434 was recorded here, this is a severe category of air. Whereas, 414 AQI was recorded in Ghaziabad, 419 in Noida and 353 in Gurugram. At the same time, the air of Faridabad was the cleanest. Here the index was recorded at 255.

According to the decision support system for air quality management in Delhi, vehicle pollution stood at 16.78 percent. Apart from this, there was a contribution of 8.40 percent from peripheral industry, 4.10 percent from residential areas, 2.29 percent from construction activities and 1.19 percent of dust flying from the road. According to CPCB, on Sunday the wind blew from the north direction at a speed of 5 kilometers per hour. At the same time, the estimated maximum mixing depth was 900 meters. Moreover, the ventilation index stood at 3200 meters per square second. On the other hand, at 4 pm, the amount of PM10 in the air was recorded at 337.8 and the amount of PM2.5 was recorded at 216 micrograms per cubic meter. At the same time, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has predicted that the air will remain in this category till Wednesday. Due to this, respiratory patients will have to face problems. Also, people may face problems like eye irritation, cough, and headache. Apart from this, the air in many areas of Delhi was recorded in very poor and severe category on Sunday.
