Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave instructions to the officers to strengthen the law and order in the state on Sunday, the second day of ‘Police Manthan’ Senior Police Officers Conference – 2025. He instructed senior police officers to keep strict vigil especially on social media and cyber crime. He asked to adopt a policy of zero tolerance against those who affect law and order, racial and religious harmony on social media. He directed Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal to technically strengthen the border security and anti-terrorism system to stop the increasing terrorist activities and drug smuggling in the state. Also asked to take strict action against organized gangs running cow smuggling and religious conversion.

Instructions for strict monitoring on social media and cyber crime
Expressing deep concern over challenges like misuse of social media, disinformation, deepfake, darkweb, cyber crime and terrorist networks, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the police and intelligence machinery to take immediate cognizance of any objectionable content affecting law and order, ethnic and religious harmony on social media and ensure prompt and strict action. The Chief Minister made it clear that no laxity should be shown towards those elements who divide the society in the name of caste or religion, put pressure on the police or spread anarchy. Such posts, fake accounts and organized propaganda campaigns should be identified and strict legal action should be taken against them. He said that some anti-social elements are misusing the names of great men and trying to spread anarchy by forming new organizations. Instructed the police to thoroughly investigate the background of such organizations and destroy their networks and ensure strict action within the ambit of law.

Special vigilance on incidents of religious conversion
Describing religious conversion as a serious challenge, the Chief Minister said that incidents like Balrampur are an indication that such efforts are being made in an organized manner. Instructed the police and intelligence to continuously monitor the activities related to religious conversion, to further strengthen intelligence through social media and to effectively stop any such incident at the initial level. Praising the work of the police so far, he said that in the current scenario, there is a need to make intelligence, local input and technical surveillance more active and effective. To maintain peace, harmony and law and order in the state, timely action should be ensured by keeping a close watch on every activity on social media.

Instructions to technically strengthen border security and anti-terrorism system
The Chief Minister, while deeply analyzing the new dimensions of terrorist activities emerging from the international borders with Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal, stressed on further strengthening the border surveillance. He directed to further strengthen Artificial Intelligence, financial trail, technical analysis and effective use of modern resources to prevent ‘Internationally Aided Conversion Racket’.

Continuously take strict action against drug trafficking and organized crime
The Chief Minister praised the strict action taken so far by the police against terrorism, drug trafficking and organized crime in the state. He said that there is a need to make it more effective and decisive. For this, instructions were given to ensure prompt action by sharing real-time information between departmental coordination and security agencies and to break the morale of the criminal network.

Strategy to attack the mastermind of cow smuggling and criminal network
The Chief Minister made it clear that in cases of cow smuggling, quick arrest is not enough, rather the entire network and its masterminds should be identified and strictest action should be taken against them. This will send a strong message against such organized crimes in the state and will ensure effective prevention of cow smuggling and related crimes. The Chief Minister appreciated the action of the police in such cases in the state.

These topics were presented in various sessions on the second day of the Police Manthan program.
Under the Police Manthan program, Session 8 will include Disaster Management, Civil Defense and Home Guards, Session 9 will include Large Crowd Management, Session 10 will include Intelligence and Emerging Challenges like Social Media/NGOs and Nepal Border, Session 11 will include Anti-Terrorism, Drugs, Cow Smuggling and other organized crimes. Presentations were made on topics like (Anti-Terror, Narcotics, Cattle-Theft and Other organized Crimes) etc.
