Haryana News: No doors and windows in government schools, children forced to study in verandah in cold: Anurag Dhanda
Haryana News: Aam Aadmi Party’s national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda has expressed concern over the serious condition of government schools in Haryana. He said that even in the harsh winter, thousands of children are still studying in government schools sitting on sackcloth or directly on the floor. This is not just administrative failure, but injustice to the future and health of children.
Questions raised on school systems
Anurag Dhanda said that the Education Department had verified the need for ‘dual desk’ from all government schools and had sought a report by March 5, 2025. But till date there has been no change in this plan. There is no adequate arrangement for children to sit in schools and in many schools children have to study in windowless rooms amidst cold air.
how bad the situation is
The media in-charge further said that the situation is so bad that in many schools there are only 3-4 rooms for 600 children, while in some schools children have to attend classes in the open. Apart from this, there is also a huge shortage of teachers in the state. About 30,000 teacher posts are lying vacant and almost 90 percent of government schools do not have headmasters.

AAP made this demand
Aam Aadmi Party has demanded from the state government that dual desks should be immediately provided, better arrangements should be made for children to sit in schools, vacant posts of teachers and headmasters should be filled, and schools should be repaired to ensure the safety of children. Anurag Dhanda said that Aam Aadmi Party will raise this issue across the state, so that every child can get safe and respectable education.
